“International accounting standards should not prevent internally developed brand related-IP from being reported as intangible assets,” according to a task force formed by the International Trademark Association (INTA). The group has published its Presidential Task Force (PTF) Report, “Intellectual Property Reporting for Brands.” INTA will use the findings in the report to pursue the matter with the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) Foundation/International Accounting Standards Board (IASB).
