Is the organization of a music playlist protected IP?

The BBC reports Ministry of Sound, a UK record label specializing in the club beat is suing Spotify, the music streaming company, for infringement of copyright, claiming Spotify is copying its playlists. MoS is seeking an injunction requiring Spotify to remove the playlists in question, to permanently block Spotify playlists that copy its compilations, plus damages and court costs.
