Kodak free to proceed with patent auction

The Wall Street Journal reports Eastman Kodak Co. will be able to proceed with an auction of its imaging patents rather than wait for a resolution to Apple’s objections.

Two digital imaging patent portfolios are in play, with more than 1,100 U.S. and foreign patents  and patents pending.

As part of a description, Kodak claims the patents have earned more than $3 billion in licensing fees from the patents at auction over the past decade.
