Touch screen technology patents to be auctioned

Hilco Streambank will administer the sale of intellectual property assets of RPO Inc. a Fremont-based manufacturer in the consumer electronics touch screen market. According to a release, the core of these intellectual property assets is the patent portfolio relating to (a) proprietary polymer materials (b) the optical-touch system called Digital Waveguide Touch™ (DWT™) and (c) various generic touch screen related patents. Hilco Steambank estimates the market to be $16 Billion by 2016, and states $55M has been invested by RPO in these technologies to date.
