Apple successful in blocking Samsung’s Galaxy tablet in the EU

Bloomberg reports Apple got a temporary injunction preventing Samsung Electronics Co. from distributing the Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet computer in the European Union, except the Netherlands, where Apple has a separate action pending. Florian Mueller emphasizes the preliminary injunction relates to a design-related intellectual property right, allowing for EU-wide enforcement. 

Recall that Apple contends Samsung’s Galaxy phones and tablet computer “slavishly copy” the iPhone and iPad and they are seeking a court order to similarly block sales in the U.S. until a trial can be held on infringement claims here.
