PETA Faces Legal Action for Infringing Intellectual Property Rights

In the Intellectual Property Law bog, it was reported film maker Victor Schonfeld has threatened to sue PETA, the animal rights group, for copyright infringement.

It appears the group used clips from his ‘The Animals Film’ without permission. What is interesting is the plaintiff's take on damages. Mr. Schonfeld is asking for around $1MM, representing royalty proceeds from a hypothetical license fee.
