Empirical Evidence of Value in Trade Secrets?

According to an article in the Mac Observor, Apple trade secrets have a market, and people are clearly willing to pay for them.  Paul Shin Devine, a former Apple mid-level supply chain manager, has been charged with selling confidential iPhone and iPod information to Asian parts suppliers.
