Berkery Noyes investment banking firm just published its most recent reports on 2011 mergers and acquisitions, broken down by key sectors of the “knowledge industry”:
- In the online and mobile industry, total transaction volume in 2011 increased by 33% over 2010. Total transaction value increased by 55%, from $46.34 billion (2010) to $71.95 billion (2011).
- In the media sector, total transaction volume in 2011 increased by 17% over 2010, and total transaction value increased by 47%, from $38.51 billion (2010) to $56.70 billion (2011).
- In the software sector, total transaction volume in 2011 increased by 10% over 2010, while total transaction value increased by 6%, from $76.42 billion (2010) to $80.75 billion (2011).
- In the financial technology and information industry, total transaction volume in 2011 increased by 2% over 2010, and total transaction value increased by 43%, from $20.52 billion (2010) to $29.78 billion (2011).
