Mark Dietrich, CPA, ABV, MBA, MST

Mark holds a Masters of Science Degree in Taxation, an MBA with high honors, and a BSBA (Accounting), summa cum laude, Beta Gamma Sigma.  He is a member of the AICPA and its ABV Credential Commitee, the Massachusetts Society of CPAs and holds the ABV (Accredited in Business Valuation) designation from the AICPA.  Mark’s web address, www.cpa.net, is the leader in medical practice valuation information.

Don Barbo, CPA/ABV

Don Barbo is the Partner in Charge of Healthcare Valuation Services for Hill Schwartz Spilker Keller, LLC (www.hsskgroup.com).  HSSK is a full service business valuation and litigation consulting services firm consisting of approximately 20 professionals with offices in Dallas and Houston.

Don has extensive experience in healthcare valuation engagements involving mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, partnership transactions, leasing arrangements, divorces, and commercial damages.  His healthcare valuation experience includes hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, imaging centers, cardiac catheter centers, and physician practices.  He has also served as the chief financial officer for a physician practice management company.

Don has published numerous articles and is a frequent speaker regarding the valuation of healthcare businesses. He also serves on the Panel of Experts for the Healthcare Section of the Financial Valuation and Litigation Expert’s Newsletter.

He holds an undergraduate degree in accounting from Texas Tech University and an MBA from the SMU Cox School of Business. He is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), and is Accredited in Business Valuations (CPA/ABV).

Carol Carden, CPA/ABV, AM, CFE

Carol Carden is a Director with ValuePoint Consulting Group and provides business valuation and related consulting services to a wide variety of business organizations, primarily in the healthcare industry.  Ms. Carden’s primary areas of expertise are in finance, valuation, managed care and revenue cycle operations for healthcare organizations.  She has performed appraisals of businesses and securities for a wide variety of purposes such as mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, management service agreements and other intangible assets.

In addition to being a Certified Public Accountant, she has also earned the Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) credential from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Accredited Member (AM) credential from the American Society of Appraisers and the Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) credential from the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.

Reed Tinsley, CPA/CVA

Reed Tinsley, CPA is a Houston-based CPA, Certified Valuation Analyst, and healthcare consultant. He works closely with physicians, medical groups, and other healthcare entities with managed care contracting issues, operational management, strategic planning, and growth strategies. His entire practice is concentrated in the health care industry.

Reed has published numerous articles in national and regional publications and is frequently asked to speak on a variety of health care topics, including capitation, revenue enhancement, and integration strategies. His articles have been published in the Journal of Medical Practice Management, MGMA Journal, Hospital Physician, Texas Medicine Family Practice JournalGroup Practice Journal and the American Bar Association Health Law Journal. Mr. Tinsley also serves on the Editorial Panel of Consultants for the publication Managed Care Contract Negotiator.

Both the American Medical Association and the Southern Medical Association have sponsored Reed’s seminars. In addition to his consulting and speaking projects, Reed has also written  Medical Practice Management Handbook for CPAs, originally published by Harcourt Brace. He has also co-authored three other healthcare books published by John Wiley and Sons: Performing an Operational and Strategic Assessment of a Medical Practice, Valuation of a Medical Practice, and Healthcare Financial Operational Manual for IPAs. Reed has also written two books published by the American Medical Association: Negotiation of Managed Care Contracts and Medical Practice Mergers.
