David McCormick is a veterinary practice appraiser, practice management consultant and speaker/writer on practice valuation and management issues. He operates the veterinary practice sales and appraisal firms, Simmons Mid-Atlantic and Simmons Great Lakes and The McCormick Consultant Group with his partner and father, Dr. Larry McCormick, DVM, MBA, CBA.

Mr. McCormick is involved nationally in veterinary practice management education with a focus on practice valuation, ownership issues and buy-sell transaction facilitation. He has recently presented at most of the regional and national meetings, including the Western Veterinary Conference, the North American Veterinary Conference, the American Animal Hospital Association, the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Southern European Veterinary Conference. He has also spoken at many state associations, management groups and VBMA Chapters at the veterinary schools and colleges.

He is the Practice Management Education Manager for the 2011-2017 Western Veterinary Conferences. As Education Manager, he is responsible for the over 74 hours of practice management education scheduled at the annual WVC meetings. He held a similar position for the 2003-2006 AVMA National Conventions.

He is also a member of the teaching team for the American Animal Hospital Association's Veterinary Management School, Level 1. He has been published in state, regional and national journals and was a contributing author to Blackwell's Five-Minute Veterinary Practice Management Consult and AAHA's Steps to Ownership.

David McCormick is a member of the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts from whom he received the Certified Valuation Analyst designation. He is a Charter Member of VetPartners, formerly the Association of Veterinary Practice Management Consultants and Advisors and has served as the Secretary (2001-2003), President (2006) and has been the Chair of the Membership and Nominations Committees. He is currently on the Board Resource Council and is an active member of the VetPartners Valuation Council.
